True Success

"True Success" By Diane Webb

Psalms 94: 12—"Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;"

When God takes the time to correct you and teach you it is a great blessing. He has a plan for you and therefore works in your life. He takes an interest in your training. He is molding you into the person he needs you to be in order to fulfill your mission. He knows what he has for you to do and therefore will shape you to fulfill his will. Correction is not always pleasant but it is necessary for you to learn and grown in Christ. Just as a loving parent corrects their child, God corrects you. He will make sure you are fully equipped for the job he has for you to do. By submitting your will to his you can make it easier to accomplish God's goal for your life. Resistance only delays the process. Jonah resisted and therefore had to take the long and uncomfortable route to Nineveh. It's always best to obey God and trust he will never ask you to do anything he has not prepared you to do. True success in life only comes from obeying God's will and doing what you were made to do.

Dear heavenly father, I submit my will to yours and pray I only do what you have asked me to do. I pray that, with your help, I learn what I need to learn in order to grow in the direction you have planned for me. I pray, Lord, that each and every day only brings me closer to fulfilling your will for my life. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

What’s Best

What's Best By Diane Webb

Luke 8: 25—"And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! For he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him."

Worry and fear is a lack of faith. If God is in control of your life…if you have submitted yourself to him, what are you fearful of? Do you not believe that God is in charge of this world as well as the heavens? Don't you believe God has full authority and power over every living and non-living thing? Then where is the worry coming from? Believe in God who created this world and trust his will. It's not always apparent what the overall good is from any situation. Sometimes there is tragedy, injustice, pain, and suffering. As long as you have submitted to God and are obeying his will you know everything is part of his plan for your life. It is not always comfortable or pleasurable but ultimately if it's for God's kingdom and God's glory it will all make sense. What's best for God and God's kingdom is best for you and your family.

Dear heavenly father, thank you for all you have done in my life and are doing in my life. I pray, Lord, that you will keep me ever-mindful of your power and your will. Help me submit my life and my will to yours. Help me always do what's pleasing in your sight. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Endure Hardship

"Endure Hardship" By Diane Webb

Luke 10: 18—"And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."

God has power over Satan. Satan's very existence is only because God allows it. God has a plan and in the end Satan will be cast into the pit of fire for all eternity. Satan is your enemy but he is not to be feared. He has no power over you unless you give it to him or God permits it. Eliminate fear of Satan from your heart. Rebuke Satan at every opportunity. His goal is to deceive and destroy. He confuses you with distortions of the truth. He puts doubt, worry, and fear in your mind. He makes you question what you know to be true. Instead of focusing on Satan and what Satan might do, have a respectful fear of God. God has all power and authority on earth and in heaven. There is nothing he does not have ultimate control over. God is in control. When life seems to be one hardship after another, and you know you are doing the best you can to live within God's will, remind yourself "God is in Control". Do not fret about the attacks of Satan or the trials you go through. Trust in God and in what he has revealed to you. God keeps his promises, he is true to his word, and he never contradicts scripture. Satan's power is to be fought and rebuked but never feared. God's power is to be feared and never challenged. God wants you to submit to his authority and let him lead the way. He will tell you what he wants for you to know. His timing is his own. Don't worry but keep up your ongoing battle against the powers of darkness. This life was never meant to be easy for Christians. Your rest and reward is not on earth during this time. Your rest and reward is in eternity. Your job on earth is to obey God, rebuke Satan, and endure hardship.

Dear heavenly father, forgive me for ever listening to Satan and doubting you. I pray you will strengthen my faith and help me remember that you are in control at all times. Help me rebuke the work of Satan and fear no one but you. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Angels

"Angels" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 11—"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."

God has sent his angels to watch over you in everything you do. He has also given you the Holy Spirit as counselor and comforter. You have all you need in order to feel at peace with God and secure in his love for you. You are surrounded with encouragement and support. You have ready access to advice, guidance, and wisdom. Not only do you have angels and the Holy Spirit, you also have God's word in scripture. This gives you a way to always know and understand God's will for your life. If you are feeling separated from Christ then look at what you may have done to pull away God. If you have not done anything to pull away from God then rebuke Satan immediately. Sometimes people pray against you and wrongful prayers may result in a feeling of separateness from God. You can feel the power of wrongful prayers because they leave a feeling of unease and aloneness. Your greatest weapon is the word of God. Listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and fight evil through the use of scripture. God will never forsake you. If you are separated from God it is not him moving away from you but it is you moving away from him or it's a wall that's come up between you. Always pray then turn to scripture for truth and guidance.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for ever thinking you'd turn your back on me. Help me recognize when I have turned away from you. Help me discern the power of wrongful prayers as a wall and give me the wisdom to rebuke the power of Satan through scripture. I pray in Jesus' holy name, Amen.

Be cheerful

"Be Cheerful" By Diane Webb

Luke 10: 19—"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

You have nothing and no one to fear. You are not under the power of people but under the power of the Holy Spirit. No one has authority over you unless God allows it. If God allows it then it is good for his kingdom. What is good for his kingdom is good for you. Do not resist but submit to his will and submit to the authority he has placed you under for a time. Do not be resentful but be cheerful as you go about your duties today and every day. Having this work to do is a great privilege. You are meant to be a light in a dark place. God knows you are in a dark place and he has you there for a reason. Shine forth with his love, compassion, patience, and mercy. Be a beacon for others to see his light shining through you. Light was made for darkness—to brighten it. Light is meant to shine in the dark corners and reveal what is there. Light illuminates what was once hidden and therefore what has been hidden no longer has power to frighten.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the power to fight evil and thank you for your protection as I go about the work you have given me today. Help me go confidently without fear, doubt, or hesitation as I obey your will. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

His Sheep

"His Sheep" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 10—"There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."

The Lord is protecting you from evil and sickness. Trust in him and obey him in everything you say and do. Listen for his voice and pay attention. His sheep knows his voice so listen carefully to him. He does speak to you and you can depend on what he says. He is in control and knows what he is doing. Do not despair when things do not seem to be happening as you have been promised. Keep up your faith and believe he will keep his promises. He is aware of what the future holds and you are not. You must sincerely submit to his will. Talk less and listen more. You will begin to notice and hear things you had not before because you are finally listening. It is very difficult to listen and talk at the same time. Therefore, practice listening. Do not get discouraged because discouragement is from the evil one. God's saints have hope and therefore have no reason to be discouraged. Of all people on earth, God's people should be the happiest because they alone have the promise of eternal life with Jesus. Nothing on earth can compare to living in the presence of God. Stop worrying about earthly things. God will provide for you.

Dear heavenly father, thank you for the safety, healthy, and provision for my family. Help me become more trusting of you and less prone to discouragement. Help me keep a cheerful heart and countenance especially when I am ministering to others. I pray the hope of all Christians is obvious in my words and actions. Stay with me Lord, I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Never Disappointed

"Never Disappointed" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 9—"Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation:"

Dwell in the Lord. Let Him be your home. He is your refuge and your home. Live for Him and in Him throughout all your days. Living with the Lord is your only happiness—your only hope. He is your salvation from all that is evil in this world. He is your hope of deliverance. What building you live in or what place of employment you work in only matters so much as you are living in Him and through Him and by Him. He is the rock of your foundation. He is the support beam of your life. He is the comfort of your sleeping place. He is your door of security. Place all hope in Him and nothing else. Anything else is false hope. Disappointment comes from having faith in earthly things. This is false security. The only true hope is in Christ. In Christ you will never be disappointed.

Dear heavenly father, please guard my heart from falling prey to disappointment.  Help me place my hope and trust in you alone.  Help me exercise that faith in all my decisions.  Help me banish all worry from my mind and heart.  I humbly pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your Life

"Your Life" By Diane Webb

Luke 12: 22—"And he said unto his disciples, therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on."

Your constant worry about your life is unnecessary and a waste. Keep thoughts of this world out of your mind. Your life on earth is just preparing you for all eternity where you will worship and praise the Lord forever. You are learning patience, trust, and dependence on God for all your needs. You are learning to be a good steward with what he has provided for you. You are learning to be thankful for what you have, your life, and your health. There is no greater accomplishment in this life than to please the Lord and have a righteous attitude. Resist the temptation to compare yourself and your life to others. Your life is your life and theirs is theirs. Do not insult your heavenly father who provides abundantly for you according to his will. He provides for each of his children according to his will. Worship and praise him now. Spend time with him now. Learn as much as you can about him now. This too will prepare you for his kingdom.

Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive me for any wrong attitude I have. Help me focus even more on you and your kingdom. Help me disregard the things of this world. Help me live my life for you according to your will. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Consequences

Consequences By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 8—"Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked."

You will see what happens to the wicked but it will not touch you because you belong to God. All around you the evil will receive their due. You will see with your own eyes the consequences of rejecting God. It will not affect you no matter how close it seems to get. Leave judgment to God and God alone. You do not have to concern yourself with the deeds or misdeeds of others. It is not up to you to seek justice or punishment for those who are wicked. You continue in the path of righteousness and let others accept the results of their choices. You are not responsible for what happens to others by their own decisions. You can be a witness and offer hope. You can share the good news of Jesus Christ. If they accept they accept if they reject they reject. Continue in your path and in your duties. Do not fear the consequences of other's actions. Everything is in God's control and in his hands. He knows what he is doing.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me remember it is not my place to judge others. Help me keep my eyes on the path you have chosen for me and the duties you would have me do. Help me discern the Holy Spirit as I go throughout my day so I will always know and obey your will. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Clothe yourself

"Clothe yourself" By Diane Webb

Luke 12: 23—"The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment."

Your life is more than the effort to obtain nourishment and more than the food you eat. You body is more than the clothes you put on or the way you look. These things are earthly—of the flesh—and in the long run are not important at all. The real food is the spiritual food of the Holy Spirit and the word of God. This food is the bread of life promised by Jesus. His spiritual food will give eternal life. As you feed your spirit with the word of God you will become more and more full with the Holy Spirit. You will grow in your spiritual body and knowledge of Christ and the kingdom of God. Your material clothes are temporary. They will fade, tear, and eventually wear out. Clothe yourself instead with the garments of righteousness and praise. Live your life in accordance to God's will and thank him constantly for all he has done for you and your family. Let the words of your mouth glorify him and set you apart from the world. Let your righteousness be what everyone sees and notices about you. This is what really counts.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for over focusing on food, clothes, and other material things. Help me keep my eyes and mind on you and your kingdom instead. Help me write your scripture on my heart. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Help me clothe myself with righteousness. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Submit and Obey

Submit and Obey By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 7—"A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."

Many may fall around you but it will not touch you. Have no fear where you are right now. God is leading and guiding you and his angels are protecting you. Do not let fear move you from your position. It is where God wants you to be right now. Others may be stricken but you will not. Stay where you are for now and trust in the will of God. He will take care of you and he will provide for you. Do not worry. Do not fret. Sleep in the comforting peace of knowing God is watching over you. There may be tests but the tests will not harm you. Just stand firm and keep your faith. Praise God in good times and praise God in bad times. He knows what's best for you. Do not grow weary in the fight. Do not give up. Do not get discouraged. There are many things you do not know but God does. He knows the reason for everything that happens (or does not happen). You do not have to understand just submit and obey.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me not to become discouraged. Help me not worry. I do trust you and I do submit to your will. Help me understand what you would have me do and I will obey. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.

Daily Walk

"Daily Walk" By Diane Webb

Luke 12: 24—"Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them; how much more are ye better than the fowls?"

God will take care of you because you are important to him. He loves you and he will provide for you. You do not have to worry about your future. He has his future in his hands. You do not have to worry about having enough to eat. God knows your needs and he will provide for them. Have faith in your father—your creator—who takes care of the birds. The birds do not worry. They do not store food for the winter. The birds depend on God to supply their daily needs. God will supply your daily needs too. You will have food and you will have clothing. You will have a place to sleep at night. He takes care of you now and he will continue to care for you. All the stress and concern about what will happen tomorrow is unnecessary. Focus on your daily walk with Christ. This is the only thing that need concern you.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for providing for my family & me so abundantly. We are so blessed and I am grateful. I trust you with my present and my future. I pray, Lord, you will help me increase my daily walk with Christ. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Pause and Listen

"Pause and Listen" By Diane Webb

Acts 2: 25—"For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:"

God is before you and beside you. As you go throughout the day remember he is there. He will lead, guide, and direct you as you do what you need to do. He will help you as you interact with others and His light will shine through you. Others will see the light in you and will be drawn to it. They will want to know your God by the way God's presence in your life affects you. People are watching you to see how you will respond and to see if you really are a Christian. You must listen to the Lord and do as he says. Wait for him to lead you in the right path and especially in the right choice of words. Listen carefully and longer. Speak less and only after pausing long enough to hear the Holy Spirit's guidance. You will be tested today so be ready to pause and listen to God's voice telling you what to say and what to do.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for the ability to do your will especially when I am tested. I pray for the right words and right actions to lead others to you. I pray for discernment so I can hear your voice and understand your will. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Father-Filtered

"Father-Filtered" By Diane Webb

Psalm 91: 6—"Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."

Do not be afraid. There is nothing that can harm you without your father's permission. If your father gives permission then it must be either for your good or the good of the kingdom. You father in heaven knows what he is doing. You belong to him so he is your protector, your provider, and your master. He knows what is best for you and he is aware of every need and every fear you have. Show him your trust and your faith by not allowing fear thoughts to linger in your mind. Kick out any thought in your head that shows a lack of faith. Do you really believe your heavenly father is in control? Have you given him control of your life? If so, then what is the problem with worry? Do you believe God cannot handle things without your help? Is this arrogance or lack of faith in God's abilities to manage your life? When you turn your life over to God you give him total authority to determine what happens to you each and every day. If he has total authority then each and everything in your life is "father-filtered". This means nothing can happen that does not go through your father first. When you don't understand or it seems very bad this is where you have an opportunity to demonstrate complete trust in God. Others will see it and this is your witness. When God is in control of your life then you have nothing to fear.

Dear Heavenly Father, I trust you completely and believe that you know what is best for me. I submit to your will and I rebuke any worry thoughts that come into my head. I thank you, Lord, for your love, your protection, and your wisdom in my life. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Eternal Hope

"Eternal Hope" By Diane Webb

Acts 2: 26—"Therefore did my heart rejoice and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:"

Christ is your hope. With Christ as your hope the future is always perfect in him. He is the focus of your life and your purpose revolves around him. To honor and glorify Christ is your first and only priority. Seek ways to honor him. Search out ways to give him praise and glory. By accepting him you accept his father which is God in heaven. You can never be hopeless as part of God's family. Your greatest hope is in the eternal life with him forever. Witness to others through your words and your actions. Let others see the light of Christ shine through you. Let every heart be glad in him. Let the hopeless have hope in him and through him. Develop the heart of Christ which is the heart of a servant. He could have refused but he submitted to the will of God and save us from eternal death. This is your hope. No other hope exists outside of him. Rejoice and be glad because your hope is to spend eternity with Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ by whose death I am saved, forgiven, and have hope in eternal life. Help me be a witness for Christ through every single word I speak and every single action I take. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen

He Loves You

"He Loves You" By Diane Webb

Acts 2: 27—"Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

The Lord will not leave you where you are unhappy, miserable, and at the mercy of incompetence. He is still in control in spite of the apparent authority of others. You may feel helpless and powerless but your father is in full charge of the situation. You are not dependent on earthly dictates. You are not dependent on people who are fallible. Your father is working to make your life better so you can focus on His work more fully and not dwell on discontent. God does not want you to dread the work he has for you to do. He wants you to look forward to it every day. He wants it to be a pleasure, joy, and deep fulfillment going about your earthly mission. God works in his own time and you must develop patience. Wait on the Lord to fulfill his promise to you. He always keeps his promises. Trust him to do as he says. Forget about the time, the season, or the calendar. Work each day to the glory of God. Your work is not quite finished where you are. Look for the hand of God and the love of Christ today. He is with you and he will never leave you. He loves you.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your word and the Holy Spirit. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to save me from hell. Help me live each day according to your will and for your glory. Help me see your hand and the love of Christ today & every day. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Do Not Despair

Acts 2: 28--"Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance."

"Do not Despair" By Diane Webb

God shows you the way through his word. He turns his face toward you which fills you with joy. You will be full of joy with his approval and support. He loves you and wants you to be joyful in his presence. He knows your sorrow and your weariness. He comforts you when you are sad. He lifts you up when you are crestfallen. Have hope and faith in your future with him. Do not despair. He has always brought you through and he will continue to bring you through. There are good days and there are bad days yet all days are good with the Lord. Trust in his goodness, mercy, and wisdom. He knows what's best and knows what needs to take place for you to learn and grown in him. He understands your pain and hurt. He understands the discouragement. The battles on earth are not always easy but through Christ you will always be victorious. Hold you head up and be cheerful in your assurance that Jesus does love you and is there beside you as your guild and comforter. Do not despair.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to keep my eyes on him and feel his Holy presence in my life and beside me each and every day. Help me ward off discouragement and instead praise you. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Under His Wings

"Under His Wings" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 4—"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler".

Trust in the truth and that will be your defense. God will protect you. He will cover you with protection and watch over you under the shadow of his wings. Trust in his protection and in his defense. Know his truth. Study and learn his truth because his truth is your defense. His truth is the word of God—the Holy Scriptures. If you know the truth through scripture the devil cannot deceive you with lies. You will recognize a lie when the truth is in your heart. Trust the truth of his word because this is what covers you. Truth stands firm against adversity and strong against assaults. Hold fast to God's word and stay within his will (under his wing). There is never a need to fear because you are safe with God. Write the words of his truth on your heart so His word will be with you always. God's word is his protection and the weapon he has given you to fight the enemy.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your word and the truth reveal through scripture. Help me learn the scripture and help me to keep it in my heart. Help me recognize the lies of Satan and to defend myself through your word. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Great Gain

"Great Gain" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 6—"But godliness with contentment is great gain."

A great accomplishment is achieving godliness and being satisfied—at peace that is. Discontent is always looking at what you don't have and especially comparing yourself to others. Work on becoming a better Christian and walking closer to God. Be content where you are and with what you have now. God knows what's best for each and every one of his children, even you. He knows the ideal place to put you in order to use your talents best and help you remain inside his will. Godliness is to be greatly sought after. It is a lifetime achievement. Godliness leads to contentment over time. Godliness with contentment is a great gain. When you have accomplished both Godliness and contentment you will be truly fulfilled. This is your ultimate goal. Your goal has nothing to do with saving money or anything to do with finances or material success. Leave the provision to God. He can provide for his children and he will provide for you. You do not have to worry about the future. God already knows the future and he is preparing you already.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for providing for me and my family. Thank you for holding my future in your hands. Help me, Lord, increase my walk with you and become godly according to your will. Help me be happy where I am doing what you have given me to do. Help me recognize your will for me. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Those who disturb you

"Those who disturb you" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 3—"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence."

He will deliver you from the traps set for you as well as from those individuals who are troublesome to you. He will take care of them so they will not bother you anymore. Trust God will do as he says. He will not let you be tormented by ungodly people one day more than is His will. He understands your worries and concerns regarding these individuals. He realizes the position you are in which prevents you from doing anything. God alone can work this situation out for you. He will take care of the problem on your behalf. Put your faith in Him and he will alert you to traps and dismantle them in advance. He will dispense justice in a timely manner. Bide your time and let God handle it for you. Do not spend your mental energy worrying about people who are trying to get under your skin and disturb your serenity. Continue doing the work God has given you to and do not let anymore shatter your peace and contentment in Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, you know who the people are who set traps for me and attempt to disturb my serenity. I pray for these individuals that they might find and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Help these people, Lord, know you. Help me, Lord, demonstrate your love towards them. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

“Nothing”

"Nothing" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 7—"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."

Nothing is important except God. Do not collect useless things and worry over them. You will not be able to take anything with you when you leave this world. Put your time, energy, and resources where your priorities are. What are your priorities? Where are you spending your time? What do you spend your energy on? What do you spend your money on? Every gift from God is to help you glorify him. Your goal is not to accumulate great things on earth. Your treasure is in heaven not here. You save and save for some piece of jewelry or an electronic. You work so hard on your books, games, and projects. It is all for nothing if it does not further the kingdom of heaven. Think about what you are doing and if it is what God would have you do. Your time on earth is very short and there is no time to waste. Your things will be scattered when you die anyway. You will leave with the same thing you came with—your soul.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for wasting so much time, energy, and money on frivolous things. Help me, Lord, to remember the things that are most important to you. Help me spend all of my resources in a way that pleases you. Stop me from wasting the time I have in worldly pursuits. Help me further the kingdom of heaven. I pray earnestly in Jesus' name, Amen.

Safety

"Safety" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 2—"I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."

God is where you go for safety. He is your place of sanctuary. Trust him and everything will be alright. Stay within the shadow of his wings. You are safe and you are protected. Let him surround you and keep away all enemies. Trust in him to not only supply your needs but fight on your behalf as well. Continue to trust him and he will not disappoint you. God is always true to his word. He does not change. He keeps his promises. Now you can rest and renew your strength for days to come. You are in a period of quiet while he works things out. He is paving the way for your next assignment. Soon you will begin a new path for Him. You will have a new mission to serve him. Now just wait and enjoy the respite. Things will fall into place soon. He has not forgotten you or his promise to you. Continue to trust him in all things and in all ways.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your refuge. Thank you for the safety and protection you provide. I trust in your word and your promises. I pray for the continued patience and quiet assurance that you always keep your promises. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Contentment

"Contentment" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 8—"And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."

Be content with food and clothes. Do not seek after material possessions. As long as you have food and clothing the rest is not important. When you focus on material things you lose sight of your goal. Your goal is the kingdom of God. Be happy with what you have and do not think about what you do not have. By not wanting things, you will always be content. Contentment comes from being satisfied with what you have rather than always getting what you want. Remind yourself of what is most important (the kingdom of God). Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will lead you to the kingdom of God. He will lead you in the path that leads to eternal life. He will lead you to your mansion in heaven. Be happy to have enough food to eat and clothes on your body. Do not long after jewelry, cars, or decorations for the home. Do not long after things of this world. The things of earth are temporary but the things of God are eternal.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for providing for me so abundantly. Thank you for the food I eat and the clothes I wear. I am content, Lord, with what you provide for me. Help me not desire material things. Help me keep my full focus on you and your kingdom. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Many Sorrows

"Many Sorrows" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 10—"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Do not pursue money. Make no decisions based on money. Money is the least important factor when trying to decide what to do. When you desire money and spend your time thinking about money you are moving away from God. God is not to be found in money or the pursuit of financial gain. God will provide for you one way or another. You do not need to spend your time trying to figure out how to make more money. The love of money truly is the root of all evil. Once the love of money takes over then bad decisions are sure to follow. When your goal is money you have strayed from the path God has set for you. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will lead you in the path of righteousness. Many sorrows come from the desire to have more money but following Jesus leads to eternal life.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me make decisions based on what's within your will and what glorifies you the most. Open my ears so I can hear your voice and know your will for my life. Help me keep my eyes on Jesus and never stray from the path where He leads. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Signs of Success

"Signs of Success" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 11—"But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness."

Do not look for earthly success and material blessings. These things may come but are not your primary focus. Search for ways to increase your morality, goodness, trust in God, love of God and others, and to humble yourself before God and man. These are the things worth looking for and building upon. These are things you can work on no matter where you are. It does not matter where you work, where you live, or what you drive. True success is not measured by bank accounts, jewelry, or addresses. True success is how much character you have and do you and your life reflect the characteristics of Jesus Christ. Are you longsuffering? Does your life and decisions demonstrate faith? Are your words loving? Do you live a life in accordance to God's word? All of these are the signs of your real success and prosperity on earth. When you have these traits, you are abundantly blessed by your Father. God will provide for you in His own way. The material things will be taken care of. These you need not concern yourself with. Instead, begin to develop the inward traits of Christ which will show by your outward treatment of others. Make sure your decisions are in line with God's will.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me develop those traits which set me apart as a child of God—a child of light not darkness. Help me grow in my faith and avoid anything that puts more emphasis on the world than on you. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

His Shadow

"His Shadow" By Diane Webb

Psalms 91: 1—"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

Live under the shadow of God. You will be protected and blessed there. Even though it may seem to be going badly and you may indeed suffer, as long as you are under God's shadow you can be sure it will work for the good. You may not always understand what God does or why He does it. Trust in Him and it will serve His purposes no matter what it is. You can believe God is in control of each and every detail according to His will. Trust His will and do not get discouraged. He does not get in a hurry. Time is only for the good. The longer it takes the better it will be in the end. Short cuts do not work the will of God. God uses time to further His kingdom. There is never a need to rush or hurry when you are within God's will. Everything is under His control. God's timing is always perfect timing. If you skip ahead of God trying to rush things it only hinders God's plans. Take your time and let God work in His own time and in accordance to His will.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me demonstrate unlimited patience. Let me show perseverance, kindness, and patience to all I see. Forgive me for anything I have said that has been outside your will. I pray you will turn it all into good, Lord. I thank you for the shadow you allow me to live under. I pray in the name of your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Your Trouble

"Your Trouble" Diane Webb

Psalms 86: 7—"In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee for thou wilt answer me."

God will answer you when you call on Him. He is faithful and sure. There is no one you can depend on more than Him. Call on Him first. He is always there to listen and He always answers. He is never too busy to listen to you. All of His children are important to Him. There is no one child more important than another. No one is more or less important than you. He makes time to listen when you call on Him. Call on Him. You can be sure He is there and He will listen. He will answer you every time. Ask God to open your ears so you can hear Him better. Be willing to listen as He answers your prayers. Open your heart to His will and His truth. He will pour out His wisdom and knowledge on you and you will know Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always being there. Thank you for listening when no one else will. I pray, Lord, you will open my ears and my heart so I will hear you and understand your will completely. I ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Uncertain Riches

"Uncertain Riches" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 17—"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy".

Do not trust in uncertain riches. Trust in God alone. He gives abundantly to you all things to enjoy. He wants you to enjoy the rich blessings He has given you. He wants you to enjoy the beautiful things and places He has created. He will provide for you each and every need. Additionally, He will bless you with enough in this life to be reasonably comfortable yet avoid temptation. It is easy to become arrogant with wealth and take your eyes off of Jesus. It is difficult to have riches and remain faithful to God. God knows how much wealth each and every Christian can maintain and still trust in Him. Some can handle more than others. Some waste what they have been given; others horde, which is not of God. Your wealth is in heaven where the streets are paved with gold. You will be graciously provided for in this life however your riches are not here but in eternity with God. There you will have your heart's desires and fellowship with Jesus Christ. Human minds cannot comprehend the splendor of heaven. The greatest wealth on earth is poverty in heaven. Nothing on earth is permanent yet everything in heaven lasts forever. Never mind the uncertain riches of earth. Look forward to the eternal riches of heaven.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the blessings and provisions you have given me. Help me always keep my trust in you in all things and in all ways. Help me be a good steward of all you have provided. Help me stay completely within your will in how I use the things of this earth. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your Requests

"Your Requests" By Diane Webb

Psalms 86: 6—"Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications."

The Lord hears your prayers and listens to your requests. He answers your prayers in His own time according to His will. He knows what is best and sometimes answers differently than you might expect. He wants your life to glorify Him and work for His kingdom. The quickest most obvious solution is not always the best solution to your difficulties. He knows things you don't know about your circumstances. He understands the entire picture and eventually it will all fit together. You have to wait. Submit to His will and wait for Him to work it out. He is just, merciful, and kind. His will is best for all concerned. His timing is the perfect timing. Be patient. Continue growing and developing where you are. There are still things to learn and accomplishments to be made. Trust and obey His will and everything will work out to the good.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing and answering my prayers. Help me wait patiently for your answer and the fulfillment of your will. Help me continue to grow and develop where I am. I trust you completely and submit to your will. I pray in Christ's name, Amen.

Wounded & Broken

"Wounded & Broken" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 18—"That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;"

Be willing to communicate. No matter what you are doing it's important to stop and talk with those who want to talk. People are more important than tasks. Feelings are more important than deadlines. It may seem like too many people are pulling on you—demanding your time--however God will give you the strength and the will to be there for those He sends to you. Have patience and endure those who are more difficult. Through your patience, gentleness, and endurance you can win some of them over to Christ. Those who are not with Christ will see, through your attitude, what a Christian is really like. Do not gossip, do not voice negativity, and do not use your words to harm or discourage anyone in any way. Use your voice to praise God, uplift others, and share the good news. Look at the people through the eyes of Christ and see what He sees. They are wounded and they are broken. They lack faith or trust in human-kind. They need to see another way. Look past how they treat you and remember how Jesus was treated. Do not take things personally. God will help you.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for each and every time I used my mouth in a way that is offensive to you. I pray, Lord, that all my words will be pleasing in your sight. Help me say the right things today so others will be uplifted, encouraged, and drawn closer to you. I ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Past Mistakes

"Past Mistakes" By Diane Webb

Psalms 86: 5—"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee."

God is so quick to forgive. He has never ending patience with you. No matter how many times you mess up He is merciful when you repent and ask for forgiveness. Once you recognize your wrong and are sincerely sorry, ask Him to forgive you and He will. Also ask Him for His help in overcoming your weaknesses. He wants you to learn from your mistakes instead of repeating them over and over again. He will still forgive you and over time will expect you to make progress in your ability to resist the world, flesh, and Satan. Once you have asked for forgiveness and have accepted His mercy, do not go back and dwell on your past wrongs. Trust God's word and believe what He says about forgiveness and mercy. Going back to something you have already asked forgiveness for means you have not really accepted your forgiveness. Accept God's forgiveness and mercy. Once you have asked for and received forgiveness, the slate is wiped clean for you. This is what Jesus did for you on the cross. Satan reminds you of your sin. Remind yourself of your forgiveness and the price Jesus paid for it and push all thoughts of past wrongs behind you.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your forgiveness and your mercy. I accept your pardon and rejoice in the salvation of Jesus Christ. Help me, Lord, overcome the temptations of this world, my own flesh, and Satan's influence. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your rewards

"Your rewards" By Diane Webb

1 Timothy 6: 19—"Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

Your reward is not on earth but in heaven. All good you do is noticed by your heavenly Father. You will be acknowledged for your work and your efforts to help others. Sometimes it seems the experiencing of consequences only applies to mistakes, problems, or failures. You wait to reap the benefits of your labors and it seems it never comes. Be encouraged because you will enjoy the harvest of your labors some in this life yet most in eternity. You cannot imagine how wonderful heaven will be. Your greatest dreams on earth cannot compare. Jesus has promised mansions, streams of living water, and streets paved with gold. But there is much more. Think of the most beautiful place or scenery on earth. Think of a majestic sunrise or sunset. The earth is full of the wonderful handiwork of God. Yet the earth is corrupted and can only reflect a tiny fraction of God's glory. In heaven, you will experience the full effect of God's creativity and beauty. You will be blessed on earth. You will live a long and bountiful life. You will have prosperity, security, and abundance in this life. However, nothing compares to the overflowing of joy, love, and blessing you will experience for all eternity with your savior Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for all you've blessed me with. Most especially the health and safety of my family. You are loving and gracious. You are merciful. I owe my life to you. I give thanks and praise today, Lord. Help me be appreciative, secure, and at peace, Lord, in the surety of your promises. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.

For Support

"For Support" Psalms 77: 14—"Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people."

God does perform mighty wonders and makes Himself known to you in many ways. He is evident all around you. His strength is with you. You can draw on His strength anytime you need it. He answers your prayers and He will give you the courage, knowledge, wisdom, power, and strength to accomplish His will. Rely on Him for your support. Ask Him to help you and He surely will. The evidence of His love and miraculous power is obvious in your life. He answers your prayers quickly and clearly. He never leaves your side. In the most hectic day—when you have forgotten Him for a moment—He is there with you. When others are pressuring you, He is with you. Reach out for His hand and it will be there. Feel His presence behind you giving you support and encouragement. Listen closely for His voice and you will hear. You are important to Him. Lean on Him. He is worthy.

Father, I lean on you completely. My whole life is in your hands. I trust you and I submit to your will. Use me, Lord, according to your plan, your wisdom, and for your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your sanctuary

"Your sanctuary" By Diane Webb

Psalms 77: 13—"Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?"

No one is greater than your God. All your strength lies with Him. He will fortify you and give you wisdom. He will give you knowledge and understanding. He is all powerful against your enemies. He is your savior and your redeemer. Your hope is in Him. Your future is where He is. Find your way in His word. He speaks to you through His Holy scripture. He gives you guidance, encouragement, and hope through His word. He is greater than anyone or anything on earth or in heaven. He is a great and powerful God who loves you as His precious child. His strength can wipe out entire cities and entire continents yet He is gentle with His children. He is your sanctuary. In His arms you are safe. You can run to your God and let him encircle you with His arms. Leave your enemies outside while you are safe in the refuge of your God. There is no power on earth or in the heavens that is greater than your God. Feel love and feel safe in your God.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your love and your protection of my family and me. I pray for your guidance in everything I do. I pray your will be done in my life. Help me, Lord stand strong in my faith of your power and your love. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

A sound mind

"A sound mind" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 1:7—"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Never feel like you have no power. You have the power of the Holy Spirit and you have the power of intercessory prayer. God did not give you a spirit of fear. Any thoughts which create fear are not from God. God does not want you to make a decision out of fear. Fear-based decisions will not be in God's will. He wants you to make your decisions from a base of power and of love. Never feel powerless. You always have power in the Lord. No one on earth has real power over you. They only have the power you are tricked into giving them—or give them out of fear. Consider the power you have in the Lord through prayer and through the Holy Spirit. Consider the love God has for you and his plan for your life. These things create the sound mind necessary to make good decisions that are in line with God's will. These are the only logical basis for making a decision for your life. Pray for guidance and protection. Pray for the right thoughts according to God's will.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your power, your love, and my sound mind. Help me, Lord to always think thoughts that are pleasing to you. Help me make all decisions out of a sense of power, love, and sound mind. I pray for guidance and protection today. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Be at Peace

"Be at Peace" By Diane Webb

Psalms 77: 12—"I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings".

Think about all God has done for you and tell people of His goodness, mercy, and love. Remember all the times He has moved in your life. Tell others what God has done for you. This is your testimony. Each and every sunrise brings a new opportunity for testimony. He gives you something every day to be thankful for and to share with others. He shows He is present in your life so rejoice. Look for Him in all things and be encouraged. Seek His will in everything you do and be confident. Show His love at all times and be at peace. Demonstrate His mercy and have no resentment. Be an example of His goodness and have no regrets. Let His love fill you and have the energy, strength, and motivation you need to meet each day's challenges. Contemplate His works both mighty and small. Share what your savior means to you.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me in all things. I have so many things to be thankful for. You are good to me all the time. Lord, give me the words and the opportunities to share your love, mercy, and goodness with others so they too might be part of your kingdom. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Those who hurt you

"Those who hurt you" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 2: 3—"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

Eventually all deceivers will be exposed. What has been hidden and kept in secret will be revealed. Justice will prevail. You need not worry about those who seem to have gotten away with evil. Those who have done wrong and seem to prosper will, in time, be shown for what they truly are. Truth will be evident and all lies will be uncovered. Do not look back on your life and think "they got away with it". Anyone who has lived outside the will of God has not gotten away with anything. God knows each and every hurt, pain, and lie inflicted on you by others. Those others will answer to your Father in due time. It may not be obvious but each one who has hurt you and has not repented is already reaping the consequences. For many, it seems they are not suffering consequences and seem to be prospering instead. Outside appearances can be deceptive. Inside, no one without God is at peace or fully content with their life. Take comfort in knowing evil against you will not go unnoticed or unpunished. All people will account for their choices and actions. Leave these things to your Father and fret not.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for those who have hurt and betrayed me. I pray each and every one will be saved. Open their hearts, Lord, to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Let them feel your unbounded love and accept Jesus into their hearts and lives. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

The small things

"The Small Things" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 3: 11—"Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me."

You can replace the names of the cities and the sentence is the same. Of all that has happened to you over the years—the trials, pain, betrayals, hardship, and people—God has been there and brought you through. Nothing you have ever gone through or ever will go through is worse than what Jesus suffered for you to live eternally. Never forget Jesus suffered unjustly so you can be forgiven and be accepted into the kingdom of God. The time on earth is just a blink of an eye compared to eternity. Never forget your real goal which is an eternal goal. What happens in your life must be put into an eternal perspective to see the meaning or understand the value of what you experience. Each day should serve to bring you closer and closer to God. God will place you where he wants you and will decide what, if any, hardship you can endure. Everything you experience is approved by God since you have turned your life over to him. Trust, once again, in his goodness, his mercy, and his wisdom. Look for him today and you will find him in your work, in the people you see, and in the quiet moments you allow him to speak to you.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me endure with grace the things I have to endure in order to achieve your plan for my life here on earth. Help me gain an eternal perspective so the little things do not bother me nor the big things cause me to stumble. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Humanity

"Humanity" By Diane Webb

Psalms 77: 11—"I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old."

Never forget what God has done for you—the little miracles, the answered prayers, and the guidance through the Holy Spirit. When you are discouraged and doubtful about the future, remember the times you saw direct evidence of his hand in your life. Remember the times he confirmed he was with you. Remember you closest moments with God. Think of the spectacular sunsets, the ocean, and a mountain vista. Think of the miracle of birth as you held your newborn child. Think of the close calls you were divinely delivered from. There is evidence of God throughout your life. He is all around you constantly orchestrating events so you can remain on the path he chose for you. Sometimes he is working things out to get you back on path after a disobedient detour. Most of all remember how much he loves you as an individual and people in general. He loves you and he loves all people. All of the signs and wonders are to demonstrate his authenticity, his sincerely, and his undying love for humanity. If he loves humanity so much as to send his son to die for your sins, then you too can love humanity as well.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and tireless efforts on my behalf. Help me see humanity as you do. Help me see each individual I encounter the same way you do. Help me minister to them in a way that pleases you. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Worldly Worries

"Worldly Worries" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 3: 12—"Yea, and all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

As a Christian, you can expect to be treated badly by the people of the world. Remember, you are in the world but not of the world. You will never fit in with the world or people of this world. People will not understand you and will not be supportive of you. This is why it is so important you have a fellowship of faith. It's important to be in a group of like-minded individuals so you will not feel isolated and alone. Fellow Christians are your family and these are the ones who will be there for you when no one else is. They are your support along with the Holy Spirit. Do not worry or get upset about how you are treated at work or in any other non-Christian setting. You cannot expect worldly people to treat you with respect or consideration. Their minds are not on Christ but on things of this world. Keep your mind on Christ and not things of this world. Hold your head high and keep your mind focused on Christ and His kingdom. Let Christ lead you each and every day. Let the worldly worries evaporate from around you. Do not allow yourself to get caught up in worldly concerns.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know I have fallen short in many ways on many days. I know sometimes I lose my focus and get upset about something that is not really important to the kingdom of God. I am still growing in my faith. Thank you for the wonderful church you have sent me to for worship, fellowship, and Christian community. I pray, Lord, I will always keep my focus on Christ. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

The Dark Days

"The Dark Days" By Diane Webb

Psalms 77: 10—"And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High."

When you are in dark days remember the good days. Remember when you were closest to God and He blessed you abundantly. Hold fast to the knowledge God still loves you and will never forsake you. It is hard when you are going through rough times. Sometimes it feels as if God as abandoned you. Do not despair. God is always near. He is molding you into the person he wants you to be. When you feel discouraged, alone, or rejected bring to mind the days and times you felt closest to God. Remember answered prayers. Remember the miracles in your life. Remember when His hand on you was obvious. Go through each day with the knowledge and understanding you are still God's child. Even in hardship and even in disobedience you are still God's child. You may walk away from Him but you can always come back. You can distance yourself from Him yet he is always there waiting for you to move closer. Pray for help during the dark days. Pray for the memories of the good days—the days you were confident in your relationship with God.

Dear Heavenly Father please forgive me of anything I may have done to distance myself from you. I want to come as close to you as I possibly can. I want to get through the dark days with renewed strength, courage, and faith. I never want to forget you are my savior and you are always there with me. I pray humbly in Jesus' name, Amen.

Listening to God

"Listening to God" By Diane Webb

Psalms 77: 6—"I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search."

Answers do not lie outside of you. The Holy Spirit speaks to you through your heart and your own spirit. Do not seek answers somewhere "out there". A knowing is present in your heart when you accept Jesus into it first. You understand there is a different feeling inside when the Holy Spirit is speaking to you. It is not anywhere in your head. Thoughts will often mislead. Search your spirit for God's answers. Ask God to lead, guide, and direct you through your spirit and your heart. Some people call this instinct but you know instinct—that gut feeling—is really the Holy Spirit. Trust that still, quiet voice you hear in the night—not the anxious, doubtful, fearful voice—but God's voice which gives a gentle, peaceful feeling—a realization, an inspiration, an insight based on pure truth not distorted thoughts. Listen and you will hear.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me of anything that would hinder my prayers today. Help me, Lord, tune into the Holy Spirit at all times. Help me discern the voice of God and block the voice of Satan. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Standing with you

"Standing with you" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 4: 17—"Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion."

The Lord is standing by you all day long. He is there to give you strength and to help you have the right words to say. Through you, let the Holy Spirit speak to minister to hurting souls and damaged spirits. In spite of your failings He is with you and can use you to reach people who have strayed from Him or never really knew Him in the first place. He is with you and His strength is available to you. Just reach out for Him and remember He never leaves you. You are weak yet He can still work through you. He will work through you. Open yourself to His guidance and allow Him to fortify you. Listen for His words and use them to encourage the weary, oppressed, and hurt ones. Pray continuously for His strength, His guidance, and His will. Without Him you cannot make it without losing some of yourself. You need Him to protect you from the influence of Satan as it is manifested in others. He will help you if you allow Him to. Ask Him to stand by you and He will. He is ever-faithful and ever-willing to be there for you.

Dear Lord, I pray in all earnestness that you will stand by me today and every day. I open myself to your voice and your guidance. I submit myself to your will. I pray, Lord, you will use me in your kingdom for your work. I pray today I will be a vessel for the Holy Spirit. Allow me, Lord, to minister to others in your Holy Name. I ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Talking about your fears

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...Image via Wikipedia
“Talking about your fears” By Diane Webb

Psalms 69: 18—“Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it:  deliver me because of mine enemies.”
Everyone has enemies, some you may not even be aware of.  As a Christian, there will often be someone against you.  This is why it is very important to ask God to redeem you, come into your life, and deliver you from your enemies.  This is a daily battle.  One weak spot or another will be a source of attack or testing.  Build up your areas of weakness when you are aware of them so they cannot be exploited by others.  Do not share your weaknesses, worries, or fears with others.  Often these are the areas people will use against you emotionally.  Sometimes a weakness will be used against you and the person is not completely aware they are doing it.  Regardless, if you had not told them the weakness they could not use it.  Tell God your weakness, worries, fears, and doubts.  Let him take care of them.  Otherwise, keep them to yourself.  Others do not need to know what you are dealing with on any given day.  In this way, you can shrink the areas of vulnerability in your daily walk.  There will not be nearly as many opportunities for others to play on your weaknesses.  Allow God to be your confidante instead of other people.  Then, trust him to take care of things so you need not worry or fear.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for saving my soul.  I pray, Lord, that I live my life according to your will and trust you to take care of my enemies.  Help me, Lord, keep my areas of weakness between you and me.  I trust you will help me overcome.  I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Self-Judgment

"Self-Judgment" By Diane Webb

II Timothy 4: 18—"And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever, Amen."

Give God all the glory. He is the master and creator of the universe. He is in control. He takes care of his children. Through him you can overcome anything. You belong to him and he will deliver you from every evil Satan tries to influence you with. God has you set aside for his kingdom. Do not worry yourself over what you say or do when God is in control of your life. You have accepted Jesus as your savior and you have given your life to God's work. You pray every day to do his will. God hears your prayers and he is in control even when you are not. Think of God all day and accept he is in control. Satan is the great accuser and will pester you with thoughts of guilt, doubt, or worry. God knows your heart and only God has the authority to judge you. Set aside all self-judgment and trust God will keep his promises and is in control.

Dear Heavenly Father, please let me know if or when I have offended you. I pray that everything I do, think, feel, or say is always in line with your will for me and my life. I accept the forgiveness of my offenses and no longer listen to Satan's accusing voice. I rebuke Satan and recognize God is in control of my life. I pray this in the holy name of Jesus, Amen.

He is there for you

"He is there for you" By Diane Webb

Psalms 69: 17—"And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily."

Call on the Lord when you need him. He will listen and he will be there for you. He will not turn away from you although you may turn away from him. Be comforted in knowing your God is nearby. He is ready to come to your aide when you call. He will help you when you are in trouble and he will come swiftly. You may have no one else you can really count on. There are none as dependable as he. Do not hesitate in your need. Do not be fearful of troubling him. Every thing that matters to you—large or small—also matters to him. As you grow tired, call on him for strength. As you grow confused, call on him for understanding. He is waiting for you to call on him. He is waiting for you to ask him to help. He is waiting for you to fully trust and depend on him. Even though he knows your every need before you ask, he waits for you to ask. He gave you free will and he respects it. He does not turn his face from you. You are the one who turns away. Turn your face back towards the Lord and ask him to help you.

Dear Lord I look to you for all my needs. I fully trust and depend on you. Forgive me for turning away without realizing it. I ask, Lord, for you help in getting through the day in a manner that glorifies Jesus. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Work

"Daily Work" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 1: 3—"Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ."

God's grace towards you is abundant and free. He extends it out of his love and favor for you. He wants you to be at peace in your home as well as in your work. God wants you to be happy in doing his will. His work in you will give you more peace. He does not want you to feel ill at ease in your daily toil. God's plan for you leads to peace in your heart not dred in your stomach. Any work that causes you to feel sick, unhappy, or oppressed is not God's will for you. He places in your heart the desire to please him through your work according to his will. When you are doing the right work in the right place you will have peace in your heart. Through his grace and mercy he helps you achieve the work he has set for you to do. He will place you where he wants you to be when the time is favorable. He is working toward this goal now. Have patience and continue doing the best you can where you are. He will move you when he is ready to move you. Rest assured you will not have to stay where you are much longer. God wants you to feel his love and he wants you to feel a sense of peace as you work for him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the grace and peace you give me. Help me be patient as I wait for your will to be done in my daily work. I submit myself to your will and humbly serve you. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Loving Kindness

"Loving Kindness" By Diane Webb

Psalms 69: 16—"Hear me, O Lord; for thy loving kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies."

God hears your prayers. He extends his love, kindness, and mercy towards you and all of his children. His mercy is limitless. His love knows no bounds. Breathe in his love for you and never doubt it. As he fills you with his love you will become more and more like him. His love will flow through you. He will always be present with you. Others will feel his love around you and will respond to it. God is love so all love is from God. With love, all things are possible. Along with love goes kindness and mercy. God is kind and merciful because he loves you so much. He forgives you your offenses because he loves you and wants to be in a right relationship with you. It is out of love you, too, will forgive the offenses of others when they ask. Just as those you love hurt you, you hurt God with the things you say and do sometimes. It does not keep him from loving you. When you apologize he is quick to forgive. He wants to keep you within his fold. No matter what you have done outside his will he will forgive you and will always be right there when you repent and call on him. The first step is to admit your sin and ask for forgiveness. This is the model God has given you to follow—admit your wrongs and apologize. He will forgive you and have mercy for you.

Dear Heavenly Father, I admit I am a wretched sinner saved by grace. I often say things I should not say. I pray, Lord, you will forgive me of this habit and help me overcome it. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Comfort

"Comfort" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 1: 4—"Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

Allow God to comfort you when you are struggling, downcast, weary, or overwhelmed. Open yourself up to his loving kindness, his arms of protection, and his hand of comfort. As you receive God's comfort, you are then able to extend comfort to others who are in trouble or need. You can show the love of Christ as Christ has shown his love for you. Show compassion and kindness in all you say and do. Have patience with those who are troublesome. Open your heart to those who are unlovable. It is easy to be nice, kind, and loving to those who are friendly, cooperative, and gentle of spirit. It is a challenge to extend a word of encouragement and compassion to those who are belligerent, irritable, and unreasonable. Look to God for your own comfort therefore you will have the ability to comfort others. For today, allow yourself to be comforted. Do not push it away. Do not allow pride to keep you from accepting comfort. Pray to God throughout the day to help you recognize his ways of comforting you. Accept God's comfort because it is the only way you will really be able to comfort others.

I pray, Lord, that I will be open to your love and comfort. Help me recognize all the ways you extend loving kindness towards me throughout the day. Help me then be able to extend compassion and comfort to others who are not always being nice. Help me forgive those who have hurt me and help me show them comfort as well. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Overwhelmed

"Overwhelmed" By Diane Webb

Psalms 69: 15—"Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me."

When you feel overwhelmed, over-taken, or feel like you are sinking deep into the water or a hole, remember God is with you and he will save you. Do not feel overpowered by life, stress, and the world. The world has no power over you. When things come at you too fast or too many at once, do not feel stressed or tense. It is so easy to let the disruptions, disappointments, and disasters take over your thoughts and energy. Sometimes you feel like all is lost. You wonder what you are fighting for—why even try. You are tired and weak from the responsibilities and your daily work. Imagine God's hand reaching down from the heavens and lifting you up. He picks you up and places you back on your feet when you fall. He holds your hand. He is giving you the strength and wisdom to do what you need to do. He is your source of power and your fountain of protection. Keep your eyes on Jesus for your direction and encouragement. Pray for those who stress and overwhelm you. Pray for them to have peace and security in their hearts. Pray they will accept the gift of life through Jesus Christ.

Dear heavenly Father, I pray for the people in my life who contribute to my stress and tension. I pray they will find peace and accept Jesus Christ's gift of salvation. Help me, Lord, keep my eyes on you today. No matter how overwhelming things may seem, I pray I always think of you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your Reward

"Your Reward" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 1: 9—"But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead."

Your eternal life depends on you trusting God. If you trust only in yourself you will surely die. No one has the power to save you from death itself except God. With God, through Jesus, you will survive death and live eternally with Him. You must trust Him and only Him. He is the creator of the world and has power over life and death. Fear not the things of the world. The world has no authority over you. Living in the palm of His hand ensures nothing can happen to you that is not approved by your heavenly Father. Your rewards are not on earth although your needs on earth will be provided for. You will have some comfort and prosperity on earth to make it easier for you to do what God has planned for you to do. You cannot focus on God and His will for your life while worrying about food, bills, or the future. Therefore, God will provide for these things so you can focus on your mission while in this world. Your reward will be in the eternal Kingdom of God.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for taking care of me and reminding me of your power, authority, and care for me. I pray, Lord, I will trust you in all things and hold nothing back. I pray I block all fear, worry, and anxiety from my mind so I can focus totally on the work you would have me do for your kingdom. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Those who hate you

"Those who hate you" By Diane Webb

Psalms 69: 14—"Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters."

You have felt like this before. You have prayed this prayer in one way or another. Rest assured God will deliver you out of the mud. He will not let you sink. You will be delivered from those who hate you. You will be brought safely in from the deep waters. What a joy to know God is with you helping you fight your battles. You need not fret over them. You need not concern yourself with your enemies and those who hate you. It is hurtful to know there are those who hate you. Remember how your Lord was hated by the world he was sent to save. It hurts the most when the hate is from those you love. They do not have the power to hurt your spirit which is protected by God himself. Have heart that you belong to God. Keep your attention on God and ask him what you need to know or do in regards to your enemies and those who hate you. He will advise you and he will guide you. He will deliver you.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for my enemies and those who hate me. I pray they will accept Jesus as their savior and the son of God. I thank you for the many blessings you have given me. I pray today, Lord, that I will have the strength and wisdom to do your will. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.

Your strength

"Your strength" By Diane Webb

Psalms 62: 7—"In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."

Turn to God to save you and to God for recognition and glory. He is the only one you can really depend on. He is your hiding place when you need rest and safety. He is the only one you need to run to. He will listen, he will advise, and he will comfort you. He is the source of your strength. Turn your eyes on him and he will lead you to safety. There is nothing on earth that provides real security. All sense of safety and security gathered from anything or anyone outside of God is false. He is the only one who can provide real security. Place your faith in him and he will lead you to your refuge. Lean on him and he will be a solid rock to depend upon. Accept his gift of salvation and live according to his will. Your glory will come in due time and according to his reckoning of your reward.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your many blessings. Thank you for being my strength and my refuge. I pray, Lord, I will always live according to your will whatever it may be. I ask in Christ's name, Amen.

Your ministry

"Your Ministry" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 1: 10—"Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;"

God will deliver you from your hardship, peril, and death. He is always present and his hand is in your life. He knows what is best for you and when you submit to his will you will fulfill his purpose. All you need is a willing spirit and a faithful heart. Give your life over to him and let him take control. Do not try to figure things out. He will take care of all the details. You do your part by obeying him. Things are falling into place and it will soon be time for a change. Do not have a care for things of this world nor people of this world. You are not of this world so naturally you will not fit in. You will never feel like you belong in this world. Your home is the kingdom of God. While on earth minister to his people as he will have you do. He will place you in places, give you opportunities, and bring people before you to minister to. Take this ministry seriously. Just because it is not preaching and is not with a church does not mean it's not ministry. Your ministry is the work God has called you to do.

Dear Heavenly Father I completely submit to your will whatever it may be. I give all my concerns to you and trust you will take care of them. I give to you any situation regarding any person with whom I am having problems. I pray you will resolve these things according to your will and your will alone. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Difficult People

"Difficult People" By Diane Webb

Psalms 62: 6—"He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved."

You do not have to defend yourself against slander or gossip. People will say things that are untrue about you to destroy your character and bring you down. It is not for you to worry or concern yourself about. You do not have to explain or defend yourself. Do not back down from the stand you have taken. Do not allow yourself to be swayed by those who would have you give in to serve their own purposes. When you follow God's will many will not be happy. Those who do not serve God will often be against you. Make peace always with your brothers and sisters in Christ and recognize everyone is not your brother and sister in Christ. With those under the influence of Satan, stand firm in your convictions and do not give in. Pray for them but do not expose yourself to their evil ways. There are some that prayers are the best way to deal with them. Pray for their salvation. Extend the love of Christ when you can and pray for God's strength and discernment to help you recognize the best way to respond to those who are disrespectful towards you.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray for those people in my life and in my family who have rejected Jesus as their savior. I pray, Lord, that each and every one will be saved. Help them, Lord, recognize the truth; help them see your hand in their lives; help them accept Jesus as their personal savior. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Darkness

"Darkness" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 3: 4—"And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward".

The only way to God is through Christ. The more you trust in Christ the closer you are to God. Follow the example of Christ. He is the light that has been sent to light your way. He is the truth and the light. By accepting and trusting in Jesus you have become a child of God—a child of light. Darkness does not like light. Anytime light is shed on darkness then the darkness disappears. This is why darkness fears and hates light. This is the way of the world. The battle of light against darkness is ongoing. It's best to just pray for those who are still in darkness. Continue to expose darkness and reveal the light. The light is, again, Jesus Christ. He is the only path to God. If there are those who say they believe in God but deny Christ they are deceived. You cannot reject Christ and accept God. The two cannot be separated. If you reject Jesus you also reject God. Those in darkness believe the lies of Satan. Pray for them.

Holy Father, thank you for the light of Jesus Christ. Help me spread his light everywhere I go. Help me repel darkness in all its forms. Always give me the right words to say in response to darkness. Help me use your word to dispel darkness. I ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Hope

"Hope" By Diane Webb

Psalms 62: 5—"My soul, wait thou only upon God: for my expectation is from him".

Your hope is in God and God alone. Wait for Him to lead you in the direction he wants you to go. It is easy to get confused with so many options and with so many opinions from others. Everyone thinks they know what's best for you. Look to the Lord for guidance. He is your beacon—a light to follow in the darkness. He will illuminate your path and make it clear to see. He knows what he wants you to do and he will tell you. All you have to do is look for the light and obey his will. Don't worry too much about the details. He will take care of the "how" and the "why"; you just need to know the "what". Take it one day at the time and each day you will have a greater understanding of God's will. Seek him first above all else. Everything originates from Him. Wait upon the Lord and he will come. He is your only hope.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me know and understand your word. Give me the gift of discernment so I will recognize your voice and obey your will. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Sufficiency

"Sufficiency" Diane Webb

II Corinthians 3: 5—"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;"

Anything you achieve or obtain is really not of your own doing but of God who sustains you. Your success is a blessing from God. You cannot achieve anything in your own right. Promotions, awards, and praise for efforts can give you a sense of false pride and security. Without God your efforts are in vain. It does not matter where you are or what you are doing—it is only through God's will that you accomplish anything of importance. He gives you the right words to say and the skills to do the job. Your talents are from Him. Never deceive yourself into thinking you can make it with any level of adequacy without God. Your ability to provide for yourself is only with God's approval and blessing. The ability to have a home, a car, clothes, and food is from God. He is the sole source of your sustenance. Everything is at His discretion. Give God all the glory and never be arrogant or prideful of your accomplishments, achievements, and abilities.

Father, I thank you for the blessings and gifts you have given me. I know I am nothing without you. Help me always be mindful of your largeness and my smallness. I give you all the honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

“Strong Tower”

"Strong Tower" By Diane Webb

Psalms 61: 3—"For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy".

God says: Lean on me. I am the only one you can really depend on. I have always been your shelter and your defense from Satan who influences all your enemies. You do not have to worry about your enemies because I will take care of them. Focus on me and my will. Listen to my voice and you will discern my will. Read my word and you will know my will. Pray to me and you will understand my will. Changes are coming, as always, and you are in my hand. I will hold you and keep you throughout the change process. Do not allow fears and doubts get in the way of doing my will. I know what is best for you and your family. You have to trust that I can and will take care of you. I have good plans for you. I am your security. I am your past, your present, and your future.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for always being there for me even when I did not realize it. Thank you for taking care of me and protecting me from my enemies. I pray for discernment so I can know your will better. I trust in you and pray your will be done in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

The path brightens

"The path brightens" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 4: 8—"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;"

Trouble comes from the outside (from others) but distress comes from the inside (yourself); with God, you may have trouble from others yet you do not have to be upset because of it. You may also be confused—not understanding what is going on or why things are happening the way they are. However, you do not have despair or get discouraged just because you do not understand. Again, all you have to do is trust God and believe he will take care of you; believe God knows what is best; and believe God is in control. Do not ask "why". There are many things you will not understand until you are with God in eternity. Then, you can ask "why" and God will tell you. Your mind cannot hold all the mysteries of God and heaven with your human mind. When you are in heaven you will be able to understand. Then, it will all make perfect sense. God understands all things past, present, and future. He knows how it eventually ends up down the road. What may look good to you at first, in the end is not good. What may look bad to you in the beginning, may be good in the end. Trust God and he will lead you down the right path. That path may look rocky at first but trust and follow. You will see the path turns and brightens when you are further along.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all you do. Help me follow the path you have set for me without detours or hesitations. Help me step boldly down the road according to your will. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Not Forsaken

"Not Forsaken" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 4: 9—"Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed."

You are never forsaken and no matter what someone does to you they cannot destroy you. Go through your day with grace and poise. Feel confident in the Lord who is with you every step of the way. No one, but no one can thwart God's plan in your life. You are anointed for his service and have accepted his call. You have dedicated your life to Him and you are marked as one of his own. Satan may try to trick you into thinking otherwise but don't listen. Expel all doubt and insecurity as soon as it creeps up. Rebuke Satan and all his devices that try to come against you. You have the power of Christ's name so use it. Jesus died for you and has already paid the price for your sins. Do not let the shame or guilt of past mistakes haunt you. These are yet more tricks of Satan the accuser. Your slate has been wiped clean and you are now a Saint of God. Go forth and do his will on earth.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to save the world from sin, shame, and death. I fully and humbly accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and I rebuke Satan and all his work. I dedicate my life and this day to your service. Help me, Lord, remember your word today. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Enemies

"Enemies" By Diane Webb

Psalms 60: 12—"Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."

By living in the will of God, you will be able to perform as a hero; it is God who will crush your enemies. You do not have to fight your enemies. You do not have to worry about what they are up to or what they will do next. Stay within God's will and he will take care of them for you. You will be able to accomplish great things doing God's will. You will be as a hero to those around you—like David. You will be protected on all sides. You will have a path cleared before you. What is behind you will not matter. God will prepare the way and God will cover your back. Enemies will come and go yet you will continue in your faith and in God's way. God has plans for you and he is working in your life. Be not afraid of people at all. Do not fear your foes. With God protecting you there is nothing anyone can do to you. You are free to focus completely on God's work and His kingdom.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your protection and thank you for taking care of my enemies. I pray, Lord, those people who are against you will come to you and repent. I pray for their salvation, Lord, so that they too can live within your will and your protection. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thanksgiving

"Thanksgiving" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 4: 15—"For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God."

When you are thankful it gives glory to God. His limitless grace towards you inspires thanksgiving. All things work to your good so that you might praise God and give him all the glory. God loves a thankful heart. He enjoys blessing those who appreciate his grace, his mercy, and his generosity. He wants you to be blessed so it will reflect back on his love for you. Others might come to know him through you as you praise and thank him. God wants to spend time with you and to give you all things through him. He takes care of his children in a wonderful way. Be a good steward yet also be openly thankful of all God has given and done for you. Worship him, love him, and praise him all the more when he pours his abundant grace on you and your family. Show, by your thanksgiving, you love and trust the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for all you have done for me. I am thankful for your grace, your mercy, and your love. Help me show my thankfulness so others might come to you through me. I pray in Christ's name, Amen.

Open your heart

"Open Your Heart" By Diane Webb

Psalms 56:11—"In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid of what man can do unto me."

You have put your trust in God therefore you need not be afraid of what people can do to you. Regardless of who is in charge, when God is first in your life then He is in charge. God has his hand on your life. Keep your eyes on him and only him throughout your day. He will lead, guide, and direct you as you go about your tasks. He will protect you from the negative influence of others. He will seal your mouth and open your heart. He will work through you and use you for his kingdom. Relax and open yourself up to the Holy Spirit so you can see God today. He wants to show you his hand today. Look for him in everything and in everyone so that none will be lost. Forget about men and women in power. They have no power. Just pray for them to see God's will and to make decisions in accordance to God's will. As for you, just keep your eyes on Christ and follow him.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for all those in authority today that they will hear your voice and follow your will. I pray all leaders make decisions in line with scripture. Help those of us who are not in authority to also make decisions according to your will. Help us all, Lord, close our mouths and open our hearts. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Daily Renewal

"Daily Renewal" By Diane Webb

II Corinthians 4: 16—"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day".

It is the cause of Christ that keeps you going. Even though your body may suffer and die eventually, your inward self (the eternal you) will continuously be renewed each day. The inward self grows, develops, and gets better each day. At the same time your body deteriorates the longer you live your spiritual self only improves. Live each day for Christ and he will renew your soul. He will give you the strength, energy, and health to continue in the work for His kingdom. The aches and pains of this life are minor compared to the glory and exuberance of your eternal life with Christ. What you go through physically for Christ only sharpens your spiritual qualities. It is the inside you that will last forever. The outside you is only temporary. You do not need to focus on improving your physical body; just concentrate on improving your spiritual body—your soul. Instead of exercising physically, exercise spiritually!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for my spiritual soul that will enable me to live with you forever. Help me know the best ways to exercise my spiritual self so that I might grow in your truths and be a living witness for your kingdom. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
