"Battles " By Diane Webb
Psalms 37: 8—"Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil".
Do not spend your time thinking vengeful thoughts. Anger or wrath is not productive in any way. Do not imagine the evil you wish to do to those who harass and persecute you. That makes you no better than they are. Just follow God's word and his guidance. Let God take care of justice. Do not fantasize about revenge. Do not spend time talking from anger. It is not Christ-like. God has things in control. He knows what he is doing. He is working in each person's life so you may not understand. He is working in your life differently. All people have to learn a different way, a different lesson, and a different skill to serve their purpose with God. Compassion is good but do not interfere in God's work with an individual. Let others fight their own battles and learn their own lessons. You must fight your own war with Satan. Getting caught up in other people's problems will distract you from God and your own work. Listen to God and obey his word. Stay away from anger.
Dear Heavenly Father, help me recognize the traps of Satan; especially in regards to anger. Keep me out of other people's battles, Lord. I need you to help me as I cannot always recognize when I am falling into old patterns. I submit myself and my life to you and your service. I pray in Christ's name, Amen.
