Confusion

"Confusion" By Diane Webb

James 3: 16—"For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work."

Being jealous of others and arguing with people opens the door to confusion. Confusion creates a fertile ground for all kinds of evil. Be happy with what you have and do not be jealous. Guard against jealousy by being thankful and appreciative. This helps you avoid disagreement and conflict. By being grateful, you can ward off confusion in your mind. When you are confused the devil can tell you more lies. You will not know the difference between the truth and a lie. The more confused you get the more mistakes you will make. Do not argue or disagree. Disagreement stems from envy—being jealous causes you to want to prove yourself better than the other person. This is where the disagreement comes in. When you feel a tiny spark of envy immediately begin recalling all the things you are thankful for. As you do this the devil is pushed away from you. Be confident in your gratitude. All good things come from the Lord. Stay away from strife. It is not on the road to Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for all you have done for me and all you have given me and my family. Help me, Lord, to always avoid envy and strife. I want to always be under the shadow of your wing. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
