"Inheritance" By Diane Webb
Psalms 37: 9—"For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth."
It does not matter how long it might take, in the end all who do evil will be defeated. Those who have patience and wait on the Lord will inherit everything. Do not worry about others who seem to be on top in this world. There are so many people who appear to have wealth, power, and anything they desire. They are hollow with nothing on the inside. You cannot do wrong in the sight of the Lord and win. Oh, it may appear those who do wrong are in control. Do not be deceived by this. God is in control. He will have this world for the righteous in the end. Those who are rich and powerful on earth, if it is not from God, will certainly have nothing in death. Those who wait on God will inherit the earth and live all eternity with God in heaven. There will be no bounds. Do not focus on evil-doers. Do not spend your precious time worrying about what they might be up to next. God has your back and he has the back of all those who belong to him. H e will protect you. You need not fight any battles. It's OK to problem-solve and offer input. However, do not try to get control, power, or recognition. This earthly battle takes your mind off of what you are really here for which is to serve God. Stop allowing yourself to be distracted. The Israelites stayed 400 years as slaves in Egypt—you can certainly stay where you are a few more weeks.
Dear Heavenly Father, help me have more patience in the waiting. Give me confirmation I am where you want me to be for the time being. I have hope in your promises and I am excited about starting a new role. However, I understand it is only for your glory, your kingdom, and your will. I pray to be graceful and serene while I wait. I ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
