Christ rules

"Christ rules" By Diane Webb

Psalms 37: 11—"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

Sooner or later meekness pays off. Eventually there will be world peace and those who have helped achieve it will be able to thoroughly enjoy it. It will not be the strong and powerful who inherit the earth. Meekness is of God and is the mark of a person who is one with Christ. You will win in the end and those who have abused the meekness in others will receive justice. Your power lies in prayer, compassion, and meekness. You do not have to shout or assert yourself. A quiet, peaceful manner will overcome a loud, disrupting manner. Always be a peacemaker and enjoy the peace you help maintain. Think of the day on earth when Jesus is back and peace reigns supreme on earth. Do not despair, all is not lost. Those who abuse power will not prevail. Take comfort in these words as you endure the misuse of power you have to endure by those in authority. Continue seeking peace and draw your strength from Christ. Christ is the ultimate authority anyway and really is in control.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your word. Forgive me of anything I have said, done, or thought that would hinder my prayers. I pray for meekness. Help me resist the urge to fight when it is not your will for me to fight. Help me be the peacemaker you'd have me be. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
