“For God’s Glory” By Diane Webb
Deuteronomy 28: 11—“And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.”
As a Christian, you are included in the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The blessings of Deuteronomy 28 are yours too. You are included as children of the Nation of Israel. The Promised Land and all it contains belong to you. The Promised Land includes what God has given you. Where you are, where your home is, is the Promised Land for you. God will bless everything you say and do. Your land, your children, and your possessions are all from God. You will have descendents like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Your animals are part of the blessing as well. God wants you to be prosperous as it shows how good he takes care of his children. If all Christians lived like paupers—barely having enough to eat—it would be a poor testimony to our God. God blesses his children and he blesses you. It is not shameful to have plenty. It shows you are walking in accordance to God’s will and are a good steward of what he has given you. You take care of the blessings God gives you. It is OK to be successful and prosperous. You need not feel guilty because your God has blessed you. Thank God and give God all the glory for the blessings you have and the ones to come. Any time someone compliments you be sure to say “it’s all from God” or “I give God all the glory”. Take credit for nothing because without God you are nothing and have nothing. Everything belongs to God including you. Praise God!
Dear Heavenly Father, I am very appreciative of all you’ve done for me and given me. I thank you for my children and grand children. I thank you for my spouse. I thank you for my family, my health, and my well being. I owe it all to you. I give all I have—including myself—back to you, Lord, for your service and your will. Use me, Lord, for your glory and for your kingdom. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
