Wisdom

"Wisdom" By Diane Webb

James 3: 17—"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

When your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding come from God they lead to easy-going, gentle, and kind interaction with others. When you feel the need to confront in a firm manner, it is probably not from God. You are meant to be kind, merciful, and patient with people. Do not treat people differently. Do not have favorites. Treat the one you like least the same as the one you like most. If you dislike someone pray for them. Look into your own heart and repent of any negative feelings you have toward another person; most of the time it's the result of condemning them in your heart. Continue to demonstrate a loving attitude regardless of the other person's disrespect. Do not worry about protecting those who are weak and are my children. I will protect my children. You are meant to minster to the one who is seemingly heartless. Be gentle and merciful with him just as your heavenly father is gentle and merciful with you. Some people appear mean when they are really hurt on the inside. They feel very small inside so they lash out at those who seem weaker. It's a pattern that kicks in without much thought. Continue as you are and let me take care of the rest.

Dear Heavenly Father, help me show gentleness, mercy, and patience with all I interact with today. Remind me of your word throughout the day. Help me minster lovingly to those who are the least open. Help me look past the exterior and see what you see. Help me lead someone to you today through my love and compassion. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
