"Good Steward" By Diane Webb
Psalms 37: 5—"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
God's promises will come to pass. Trust in him and commit to his ways and look forward to the fulfillment of his promises to you. Do good, listen to him, obey him—these are the conditions for which you will receive the promises. Learn his ways and follow them. Keep your mind off of worldly things. Any blessings upon you are for his glory and the betterment of his kingdom. Be a good steward. Watch how you spend the money he gives you. Be careful how you use the things he gives you. Do not be frivolous, extravagant, or wasteful. Spend frugally and wisely. Take what he gives you and use it according to his will. You cannot be blessed if you do not know how to handle your blessings. Pray before every purchase—large or small. Do not look down on others who do not seem to be as blessed as you are. Maybe God is working in their life but it's not obvious. Never think you are better than anyone else which includes thinking you are more spiritual or have a better relationship with God. Only God knows what is in people's hearts and sometimes outward appearances can be deceiving. Be kind to others and give according to God's will. Keep your spirit humble and meek in the Lord. Keep his way and his promises to you will come to pass.
Dear Heavenly Father, help me keep your way. Point out to me anything I am doing—or not doing—that is not according to your way. Help me overcome my deficits. Help me always demonstrate Christ's love towards others. Help me be a good steward of all you have given me. I ask this in Christ's name, Amen.
